Incentive and Rebate Updates

As of October 15, 2025, single family heat pump HVAC HEEHRA rebates are available statewide for income-qualified California homeowners, including standalone homes, townhomes, condos, accessory dwelling units, and mobile or manufactured homes. All HEEHRA single family rebate reservations must be installed and invoiced by December 31, 2025, to take advantage of the 25C federal tax credit that expires at the end of the year. The tax credit is only available for heat pumps placed into service by December 31, 2025. This Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit tax credit could provide additional financial benefits to homeowners. See this IRS page announcement and contact your tax professional to learn more. All HEEHRA projects must be installed and invoiced by February 28, 2026. Applications for payment must be submitted with complete documentation to Iris by February 28, 2026. 

As of July 15, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump HVAC (air-source and air-to-water) and heat pump water heater incentives are available statewide to California homeowners, including stand-alone homes, accessory dwelling units, and individually owned mobiles or manufactured homes that are on a foundation or does not have axles or license plates.

As of April 11, 2025, Multifamily HEEHRA rebate pre-applications are being processed as well and funding remains available in all regions for multifamily projects.

As of October 31, 2023, TECH Clean California commercial incentives are available to small and large commercial businesses. All commercial projects must be fully installed, and incentive applications submitted by August 31, 2025.

As of January 29, 2025, TECH Clean California small multifamily heat pump water heater incentives are available to multifamily residents and property owners.

As of November 12, 2025, TECH Clean California single-family heat pump water and heat pump HVAC incentives are nearly reserved statewide therefore, November 14, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations.

As of October 31, 2025, TECH Clean California commercial incentives are no longer available.

As of July 3, 2025, 3CE incentives are fully reserved for this program cycle. Therefore, July 3, 2025, is the last day to submit claims.

As of February 24, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved statewide therefore, February 24, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations.

As of January 17, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump HVAC incentives are fully reserved statewide therefore, January 17, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations. The single family heat pump HVAC budget also covers air-to-water heat pump reservations – there is no separate budget for air-to-water heat pump water heaters.

As of January 17, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved for non-SMUD POU customers (e.g. City of Palo Alto, LAWDP, Roseville Electric, Silicon Valley Power, etc.) and any customers whose home bedroom/bathroom configurations do not fall within the California Plumbing Code (Chapter 5, Table 501.1(2) in 2022 California Plumbing Code - e.g. homes with 7+ bedrooms or 4+ bathrooms, etc.); therefore, January 17, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations.

As of July 9, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SDG&E service area; therefore, July 9, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of June 3, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for non-SMUD  publicly owned utility customers; therefore, June 3, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of May 30, 2024, single family single market rate and equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SCG service area; therefore, May 30, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of May 29, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in PG&E service area; therefore, May 29, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives. Please note, this includes SMUD electric customers - there is no separate SMUD budget for equity projects.

As of April 4, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SDG&E service area; therefore April 4, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of March 7, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for non-SMUD publicly owned utility customers; therefore, March 7, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of February 9, 2024, single family market rate incentives are nearly reserved in SMUD service area; therefore, February 9, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

As of February 6, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved for electric investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in PG&E service area; therefore, February 7, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
