Incentive and Rebate Updates
As of December 10, 2024, TECH Clean California single family HPWH incentives are available across the entire state of California.
As of December 10, 2024, TECH Clean California single-family air-to-water heat pump incentives are available to Californians who enroll in a demand response program. Projects with terms and conditions dated on or after November 12, 2024, may be eligible, with the budget coming from TECH Clean California single-family heat pump HVAC.
As of November 12, 2024, single family heat pump HVAC HEEHRA rebates offered through TECH Clean California are available to income-qualified Californians.
As of November 12, 2024, TECH Clean California single family market rate heat pump HVAC incentives are available to Californians who enroll in an electric utility demand response program, if one is available to them.
As of October 8, 2024, multifamily heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heater, cooktop, range, oven, and/or heat pump clothes dryer HEEHRA rebates offfered through TECH Clean California are available to income-qualified multifamily property owners.
As of July 9, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SDG&E service area; therefore, July 9, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of June 3, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for non-SMUD publicly owned utility customers; therefore, June 3, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of May 30, 2024, single family single market rate and equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SCG service area; therefore, May 30, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of May 29, 2024, single family equity heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in PG&E service area; therefore, May 29, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives. Please note, this includes SMUD electric customers - there is no separate SMUD budget for equity projects.
As of April 4, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in SDG&E service area; therefore April 4, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of March 7, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are nearly reserved for non-SMUD publicly owned utility customers; therefore, March 7, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of February 9, 2024, single family market rate incentives are nearly reserved in SMUD service area; therefore, February 9, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.
As of February 6, 2024, single family market rate heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved for electric investor-owned utility (IOU) customers in PG&E service area; therefore, February 7, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives.

TECH has partnered with The Switch is On, a statewide campaign to inspire and educate consumers across California about the benefits of low-emissions homes and to provide them with easy access to incentive information and contractor support.
Customers can explore incentives available near you on the Switch is On's Incentive Finder page. Contractors can enroll in TECH Clean California and become eligible for incentives on the Switch is On's Enrollment Form Page, and find program resources like flyers.
