Last Day to Reserve Statewide Heat Pump HVAC and Specific Heat Pump Water Heater Incentives
January 17, 2025
As of today, January 17, 2025, is the last day to make sales and reserve single family heat pump HVAC and specific heat pump water heater incentives statewide.
Single family incentives for heat pump HVAC and air-to-water heat pumps are nearly reserved statewide. The single family heat pump HVAC budget also covers air-to-water heat pump reservations – there is no separate budget for air-to-water heat pumps.
In addition, single family heat pump water heater incentives for non-SMUD publicly owned utility customers (e.g. City of Palo Alto, LAWDP, Roseville Electric, Silicon Valley Power, etc.) and those whose home bedroom/bathroom configurations do not meet California Plumbing Code (Chapter 5, Table 501.1(2) in 2022 California Plumbing Code - e.g. homes with more than seven bedrooms or more than four bathrooms, etc.) are also nearly reserved.
The following types of incentives are still available:
- HEEHRA rebates
- Majority of heat pump water heater incentives
- Electric customers of SMUD, PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E whose home configurations are in the first hour rating table
- Please note, the two types of heat pump water heater incentives that are nearly reserved only represent a small portion of projects
