Learn & Earn Program

Due to program popularity, our Learn & Earn program is at capacity.

As of February 2, 2024, we are not accepting any new requests for equipment. Space may become available at a later date, and we will update this page accordingly.

What does that mean for those with partially completed requests?

If you are in our system with a partially completed request, we ask you to complete any final requirements and submit your request form by March 31, 2024. Contractors with partially completed requests will also receive an email about what items they must complete by the March 31 deadline as well. Existing equipment orders will be fulfilled while supplies last.

Earn FREE Heat Pump Water Heaters for Your Staff

What is the Learn & Earn Program?

TECH Clean California understands that the best way to learn about the equipment you’re selling is to live with it yourself. For that reason, the program is offering an opportunity for contracting firms to earn a free heat pump water heater for their home or office! Living with a heat pump water heater in their own space, contractors can bolster their skills and build their confidence so that they are assured in their ability to sell heat pump water heaters.

How Can Contractors Participate?

Step 1: Enroll

Step 2: Training

  • TECH & ESMAC Training
  • Manufacturer Training
    • All contractors installing the free equipment must complete additional, live training with a heat pump water heater manufacturer. In this training, the manufacturer will confirm that the participant understands unit sizing, use of thermostatic mixing valves, location considerations, and CTA-2045 ports. Please see the list of the manufacturer training below. Training is available and details can be found here.
    • Please Note: Not all manufacturer products and training for TECH heat pump water heater incentive qualification are accepted for Learn and Earn. Likewise, not all manufacturer products and training accepted for Learn and Earn are acceptable for TECH HPWH incentive qualification.

Step 3: Select Your Heat Pump Water Heater

  • TECH Clean California will email the contractor a participation form with all the pertinent order information to fill out and submit. Once received, we will submit the order through the contractor’s preferred distributor.

Step 4: Pickup

  • The contracting firm will be notified by TECH Clean California when units are ready for pick up. Please note that participating contractors will be required to submit installation photos and pre- and post-installation data to us, as noted in the terms and conditions on the participation form.

Step 5: Send Verification

  • Once installation is complete, the contractor who installed the equipment will submit photos of installation and installation data for verification purposes. Participating contractors are required to submit within 30 to 60 days after receipt of the heat pump water heater.
