San Fernando Valley Contractor Enrollment

How to Enroll

Market Rate Incentives

To become enrolled to offer the upcoming San Fernando Valley single-family general market incentives, all single-family contractors will have to complete the following steps:

✔ Agree to the New Trade Professional Participation Agreement – All contractors will need to enroll by filling out our new TPPA.

✔ Watch New Onboarding Videos – All contractors will be required to watch three videos: (1) TECH Clean California and Iris, (2) TECH Clean California - San Fernando Valley Single-Family Market Rate Incentives, and (3) Avoiding Panel Upgrades. Complete the onboarding videos by creating or logging into your account here. If you have issues logging in, please contact aeatraininginfo@aea.us.org.

✔ Complete Required Training – All contractors will be required to complete both company-level and installer-level training. The required trainings are based on the type of equipment that a company intends to install.

  • Please note: If a contractor has taken an Electrify My Home (EMH) course in the past, there is no need to complete the course again! The program will be able to confirm past course completion with EMH on contractors’ behalf.

Once the above steps are completed, the TECH Clean California team will update the company’s Iris account(s) to allow for submission of San Fernando Valley single-family market rate incentive reservations!

Please note, San Fernando Valley incentives will be available only to contractors with C-20, C-36, or General B licenses.

Income-Qualified Incentives

Income-qualified incentives provide higher incentives across more equipment and appliance categories to customers that verify their household’s annual income is less than 80% of the area median income (more details coming soon!). Contractors that wish to offer single-family incentives to income-qualifying customers are required to first complete the same onboarding and training requirements that all contractors offering market rate incentives must complete. Additionally, these contractors must:

✔ Watch an additional onboarding video.

✔ Meet additional criteria that are designed to ensure this contractor group can install additional electrification equipment and has the business structure required to offer these types of incentives. This includes the requirement to hold a General-B license.

✔ Once the TECH Clean California team has confirmed that a contractor meets the additional criteria, the program will reach out to set up a 1:1 meeting to ensure that the rules and expectations for offering single-family income-qualified incentives are clear.

Once approved, the TECH Clean California team will update the contractor.

Project Eligibility

Projects initiated on or after the date of incentive availability (October 22, 2026, for projects in the priority communities) are eligible. Invoice dates, installation start dates, and permit open dates cannot be prior to launch date. Customers that enter into project contract prior to launch date are ineligible to receive San Fernando Valley single-family incentives
